Over the last few days, I have been installing temperature sensors into all the rooms of the house. These are to capture a record of temperature fluctuations as we live and work on the house.
The idea is to capture some thermal properties over a winter before we make any changes. Then we can see if the ‘improvements’ we make to the thermal barriers to a room are worth the investment.

Now that the house down south has been sold, I can start to install bits to start looking after the property. As it is too late in the year to get fully organised to do major building work now, so I have decided to start on some of the core electronics.

Finally the new scheduled released of Ubuntu is upon us and available for download and upgrades.
This is an LTS version (Long Time Service), which means they will support this version for much longer than the interim releases which come out every 6 months. The last LTS version was 2yrs ago at version 8.04.

It appears that I need planning approval to put up my Weather Station, external webcam and so on. Not at all helpful. So I will have to apply for approval first.

I’m sorry to report that this web site (and my others) were down a couple of times over the weekend. This time, both were beyond my control in every respect.
Saturday morning I had no Internet connection and Sunday evening had a total lack of electricity.
I’m am sorry for these down times, which amounted to everything being off-line for about 15 hours in total.
