HowTo: Entering the FreePBX Console from Elastix Console

This article describes how to enter the FreePBX console from the Elastix Console.  FreePBX is an interface to the core system of Asterisk.  FreePBX is similar to Elastix, but provides a deeper and slightly less freiendly interface to Asterisk.

You will need to enter the FreePBX console to update internal modules (non Linux) that require upgrade, additions or general changes.

From Elastix, enter the PBX -> PBX Configuration menu and select Unembedded FreePBX from the menu on the left:

This will start the FreePBX console in a new browser window.  You will be prompted for a user name and password.  If you have not altered these, then they will be the installation default of admin and admin.  If you have not changed the default settings, you should consider following the article ‘HowTo: Securing Elastix‘.

Enter the required user name and password into the ‘popup’ box:

And if the user name and passwords are correct, the FreePBX console will be displayed:
