Private Automations

Here are lists of other web sites that specialise in Home Automation projects.  These are operated by private individuals, rather the links offered on my Links page.  Each link is offered with either my own description, or a description taken from the web site directly (shown in italic).  Links are sorted by site name.

If you wish to have your own site listed here, then drop me a line and I’ll take a look at your site.  If you provide the following it would be appreciated:

  • Your name;
  • A URL to your site;
  • Where you are in the world (Country & State/County/District);
  • A brief description if not available from your site.
  • And an email address to contact you back on.  I won’t publish any email addresses on this site, nor use it for any other purpose than to advise you that I have added your details here.

My Smart Home Blog – 1/22Feb2010/USA?

Jon Scott who emailed me a link to his site, offers his experiences of automating his own home.  The quick scan of the site shown that his experiences of this process are well commented, with plenty of pictures.  Interestingly enough he has added a web interface to his system so that many of the functions can be controlled via the browser on his mobile phone – very useful.

Over the coming months I will give it deeper read and will update my comments accordingly.  Jon’s own introduction is:

I’m a 24 year old home automation enthusiast who loves technology. I currently live in a two-story town house that is approximately 1,540 square feet. I decided to begin automating it back in June of 2007 after reading over many home automation forums across the net since my teenage years. I put together this website so that I could share with others my home automation setup.
