HowTo: Updating Elastix via YUM

As with all operating systems and software packages, updates are released.  Periodically, you need to download and install these updates.  For Elastix, this can currently only be completed via a terminal session and not by the web GUI.

Applying these updates not only protects your system from recently discovered security threats, but can often add new features.  It is important that you apply these updates at least once a month, if not weekly.

HowTo: Securing Elastix

This article covers the initial steps in securing the default install of Elastix to make it more secure.  You should complete this work even if your system is not accessible to the Internet.

If it is connected to the Internet, then not doing these basic security changes will leave your system wide open to attack!  You have been warned.
